This page contains frequently asked questions about the Pixplug.com service and our products.

Q. Can I upgrade my Pixplug.com account to get more features?

A. Of course. Simply go under the Our Products menu at the top of our site and select Account Upgrade. Many people upgrade from a Standard Account to a Premium Account to receive the full benefit of the Pixplug experience. Unfortunately, due to the nature of how accounts are setup, you can upgrade an account but you cannot downgrade an account.

Q. I received free software with my Premium Account. Does this work just with Pixplug?

A. Yes. The Free Pixplug Software is setup to allow you to enhance your photos with creative effects for the purpose of sharing them on Pixplug and for ordering prints and photo gifts. The software is setup to upload to any Premium or higher level Pixplug account. You are free to share this software with your friends and family so they can enhance their photos and then upload them to your account. You may not, however, resell this software.

Q. Do you restrict bandwidth for uploading or sharing photos?

A. No. Our system is setup to provide you and your viewers with ample bandwidth to view, download and share your photos without restrictions. Some sharing sites limit how many photos you can upload in a month. Others limit how much bandwidth you have to share your photos. We limit neither of these items. Instead we regulate control over our system based on the amount of data you store in your account. We offer a generous, but not unlimited, amount of storage.

Q. How does your membership renewal work and how will I be billed?

A. Pixplug.com offers customers a best-of-class photo sharing service. We do not fund the site through advertising or spam marketing. Instead we offer a paid membership. At the end of the membership term you have the choice to renew your account or to cancel the subscription. We will notify you by e-mail when it is time to renew your account. We automatically bill your credit-card if one is on file with us. If not, we request you to sign-in and renew the account by providing us with payment for the next membership term.

Q. How does your Satisfaction Guarantee work?

A. Basically we want you to be happy with our photo sharing and print / gift services. If you aren’t happy, we will work with until you are satisfied. We have setup a page dedicated to discussing our Satisfaction Guarantee.

Q. If I order a print or photo gift from Pixplug can I have it delivered directly to the recipient?

A. Of course. On the check-out page simply fill in the address where you want the print or gift sent to and we’ll ship it there. We have setup a page that details the shipping options available to you. Go to the Shipping Information page for more details. We do recommend around major holidays like Christmas, Mother’s Day and such, that you order your gifts as early as possible to ensure it arrives in time. Around the holiday season production volumes sky rocket so delivery times can be affected beyond our control.

Q. If I decide to change photo sharing services and close my account - how do I get my photos from Pixplug?

A. We allow you and your site visitors (with your permission) to download entire albums at a time. All you would have t do is use this feature to pull out your photos. You can also request a DVD of your photos, but we do charge a nominal service fee plus shipping and handling for this manual process.

Q. Can I upload large volumes of photos to Pixplug?

A. Our web uploaders and software application uploaders (iPhoto, Aperture, etc ...) are configured to allow volume uploads of files to our site. You can upload hundreds of files at a time if you like. Typically we find customers will upload large batches at night and let the upload complete while they are sleeping. On the web uploader we have built in features that let you TAG your photos as you upload them to save you time and to help keep your photos organized.

Q. How many people can I let contribute photos to my site?

A. There are no limits to how many contributors you can have. If you have lots of friends you will find it is fun building and sharing photos through albums. If you go to an event with several friends, invite them to contribute their photos to the album you setup for them.

Q. After I upload my photos sometimes it takes a while before they are in my album. Why is this?

A. Each photo you submit is run through an image processing server farm that takes the photo and optimizes it to numerous different sizes for displaying on Pixplug. Depending on how busy the network is with other users and depending on how many photos you have uploaded.
